The Auto Skills Shop operates much as the Arts and Crafts Center, offering a do-it-yourself approach along with professional auto advice. The shop is an economical way to save customers money on vehicle repair and maintenance.

Located adjacent to the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, the Peterson Air Force Base has now been officially selected as the temporary headquarters for the U.S. In an announcement, the Department of the Air Force said it had chosen Peterson in part because it has the “infrastructure required to support both the Space Force.

Facilities and equipment available include:

Large fully-equipped garage with 14 work stations (one station for a small RV)
Tool crib, two engine rebuild stalls
Three Lube and Oil Racks with Power Lifts
Tire Changing Machine
Hydraulic Press
Bench Grinder
Drill Press

There is also a secured parking lot behind the shop for you to store your vehicle while working on larger projects that take more than a day to complete.

The professional staff is on-hand to offer technical advice when needed. The shops mechanics will also do some work for you if desired. Mechanical services by appointment only Wednesday – Friday. Prices subject to change.

The Auto Skills Shop is also home to the only privately owned vehicle car wash services available on base. There are four 'do-it-yourself' high pressure wash stalls and four vacuum machines as well one automatic drive in car wash to blast away the dirt and grime and keep your vehicle bright and shining.
